Projects
CAE is involved in a variety projects, including:
- Training Tools for Accessible Towns (TTAT) - a European Commission Leonardo Transfer of Innovation project. CAE is collaborating with partner organisations from France, Italy, Romania and Greece. The project will develop training tools for planners, access consultants, architects and construction professionals.
- Universal design: Barrier free environments- a European Commission Grundtvig Partnership. CAE is working with disability and access organisations from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Spain
- House Adaptations Advisory Service (HAAS) – a national database of architects, surveyors and others who have experience of house adaptations and small community projects. HAAS matches enquirers with a suitably experienced practitioner in their locality.
- Access and Sustainability Advisory Service (ASAS) – a service for voluntary and community groups in London, funded by the City Bridge Trust, offers advice on how you can make your premises more accessible and sustainable.
- Is There An Accessible Loo? (ITAAL) – unfortunately, the charity ITAAL was wound up at the end of 2005, CAE agreed to transfer key information from the ITAAL website and publications onto a microsite accessed via CAE's website. That way invaluable information such as how people use accessible WCs, typical user concerns, what users need and design guidance, would not be lost.
- National Register of Access Consultants (NRAC) – an independent register of accredited Access Auditors and Access Consultants who meet professional standards and criteria established by a peer review system. It is the only UK-wide accreditation service for individuals who undertake access auditing and access consultancy.
